Steakhouse Wheat Bread

I was completely shocked at this bread.  Shocked at the ingredients to find in it.  Shocked at how good it was.  Shocked at how well it stood up to the test of time…keeping as soft on the 7th day as it was straight out of the bread machine.  Shocked at how closely it does taste to that bread you get at a steakhouse.  Oh it’s so good!  This will most definitely be on my repertoire of breads I make often.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup warm WATER

1 TBS BUTTER, softened

1/4 cup HONEY

1/2 tsp SALT

1 tsp INSTANT COFFEE GRANULES

1 TBS unsweetened COCOA powder

1 TBS SUGAR

1 cup BREAD FLOUR

1 cup WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR

1 1/4 tsp YEAST

Put all the ingredients into the bread machine, push the buttons and let magic happen:

My Comments:

I very hesitantly made this bread.  I mean…coffee?  and on top of that unsweetened cocoa?  In bread?  In the same bread?  I mean, really?

Well, let me tell you.  I don’t know how or why, but it works!  Oh, if I closed my eyes I seriously thought I was at a steakhouse.  This is PERFECT bread!   I will be making it again!
